Laborl Day Picnic

This past weekend was Labor Day in China. We decided to celebrate it American style with a few Chinese and American friends. We had some ground beef for burgers and a friend made some ka-bobs and someone else brought a grill. We loaded our treasure trove of goodies into 3 taxis and headed for Tong Ye park.

However, before we could leave we all had to chip in and make the ka-bobs.

Once we arrived at the park, we knew it was going to be a great picnic. The weather was gorgeous. It was about 65 degrees, not too windy, and beautiful clear blue skies. We picked a spot close to the river.

We spread a couple of blankets out. Not that we needed them, but it made it a little more comfortable.

We probably spent more time that we ought to have trying to get the grill started.

In the meantime we threw around a football.

Some of the guys grilled the ka-bobs. They actually look like they know what they are doing!

Finally it was chow time!

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is an American hamburger . . . made in China.
