Winter to Summer

The name of our city in Chinese means "eternal spring." Which actually is a a giant misnomer. Considering that winter lasts for 8 months out of the year, we find it difficult to imagine how our city got its name.

Last week the average temperature was in the 50's and raining. This week's average temperature is in the 90's. When exactly did spring poke its head in? Maybe while everyone was sleeping.

On a happier note, because all buildings in China are made of solid concrete and have spent the last 8 months in sub-zero temperatures, our apartments have a sort of natural air conditioning. It is 90 degrees outside, but we have our windows open because it is a cool 66 inside.
